The website was founded by a serving Paratrooper / Royal Army Physical Training Corps Instructor, Coach Mike Chadwick.
Coach Mike has spent his career managing, leading, optimising human performance and enhancing resilience for Tactical Athletes (including UKSF) and professional sporting bodies (including the English FA) all around the world.
From UFC fighters to various Special Forces, Firefighters, Police, First-Responders, Private Security Officers and Anti-Poachers amongst many others from around the globe, he has coached multiple Tactical Athletes with a multitude of aims.
Through organic 2 way communication Coach Mike Chadwick's social media accounts transformed into a hub of coaching and leadership excellence and is aimed at physically, psychologically and psycho-socially developing and catering for all physical requirements within the tactical athlete community. Due to level of engagement it was natural to grow the brand and thus Tactical Athlete was created.
The Tactical Athlete Academy has been created to provide a single international platform for serving and potential Tactical Athletes, Instructors, Coaches and veterans, to share knowledge and experience through contemporary writing on all things health, fitness, nutrition and tactics.
The feature will be home to a number of hand picked Coaches, Physical Training Instructors (PTIs), Exercise Rehabilitation Instructors (ERIs), Tactical Athletes and Nutritionists with expertise, experience and inter-connected to the field of Tactical Athleticism from the around world.
Each will bring their own uniqueness and different style of writing and application, but in consideration for one cause; to enhance the physical well-being and literacy of our serving, potential and veteran Tactical Athletes.

Current Physical Development (PD) in a tactical context is lacking scientific rationale and is generic by nature without repeated interventions. This is due to the difficulty in individual exercise prescription due to it being non-efficient, time consuming and expensive.
When a generic training programme is used to train Tactical Athletes, the chances of over-training and under-training increase, due to the simple consideration of guessing.
The Coaching and The Challenge are sophisticated training modalities aimed at optimising human performance for the Tactical Athlete or for those who wish to train like a Tactical Athlete. This is done by enhancing resilience and reducing muscular-skeletal injuries through individualising training focused on contemporary scientific rationale; cutting out the guesswork.
